While attempting to install the main shaft assembly into the case there seems to be a clearance problem. The 3/4 slide selector will not clear the 4th gear on the countershaft. I don't see a way to install this without removing the slider. Is there a trick to this that I'm not aware of?

The OD rod and lever configuration are different than standard.

The cluster shaft has to be pulled out and the cluster gear lay on the bottom of the case. Reinstall the cluster shaft after the main shaft is installed. I use a dummy shaft in the cluster to keep the needle bearings and thrust washers from falling out, use some assembly goo as well to keep them in place. Hope this helps. A piece of PVC pipe cut to the length of the cluster shaft works well.

Ok, I removed the cluster shaft, installed my dummy shaft and dropped the cluster to the bottom of the case. The main shaft installed easily and aligned with the input shaft. But now how do I reinstall the cluster shaft and woodrift key? The extension shaft housing blocks the back of the case?

That did it. Took multiple attempts, those thrust bearings like to relocate themselves and more than once I finished only to find something like the front synchro on the bench. Thanks.
