As a bunch of ya'll know, I'm getting ready to move and of course the vehicles need to be moved as well. About 20 years ago, I had my 300 out for a nice long drive and was tooling down the road real nice, when all of a sudden I get this bad vibration, then what sounds like I had driven over a gravel road with pebbles being kicked up underneath the car. You know that sound? Turns out that the impeller bearing had disintegrated to pieces, rendering the pump useless and dead.
Well the other day as I was driving the 300 up to the new place when half way there, it same thing happens again. Man, was I pissed! So while I'm removing the old impeller, my brother is running around the Sac area looking for a new impeller. What seems like hours later, I'm back up and running again. Off we go back up the hill. Cars running like a champ and getting tons of thumbs, nods, likes and what not's. Got there with no problems until I hit the exit ramp and come to the stop sign. Man, sounds like I have a couple of dead cylinders like I need a set of plugs. At any rate, I back it into the garage and shut her down. After a bit one of the neighbors comes over to introduce himself and do some talking about the car, tell him the story of how the day went, etc. when I pull the rad cap off and look down the hole. That's not good, can't see any coolant in there and I know it was full a hour or so ago. I'm sure hoping that I didn't poke a hole in my fairly new 3 cored re-cored radiator, that'd really suck for me! That pump had less then 20K on it when it trashed out, and the stock one went over 95K before it died. Let's just hope this new one last longer! Here's Santa's sled in question.

Nice ride ! The reman pumps are just luck of the draw, I have one also and knock on wood its holding up. Got mine from napa but hey we are all at the mercy of what they happen to import each month.
Hope you just had a air pocket and the top off stays put.

Hope so, just going to have to wait till I'm done moving to scope it out and see what's wrong.

Jon, I may have an OEM water pump in my stash. Ill take a look tonight or tomorrow and let you know.

I'm good, back up in commission. Just was telling a story. Thanks though.

I just don't know about the radiator yet? Still fighting a heat/no heat issue with it though, real strange? Car is safe.
