68 charger, came with a new aftermarket bumper. Was proceeding to install, and both left and right “ears” (the short elbows that wrap around to the sides) start rubbing the fenders?
Knowing nothing about bodywork, can the “ears” be slightly bent outward about 1/2”?

Before you go "bending" anything, re-check all your dimensions. Are the fenders fit properly ? Are the bolt holes lined up ? Are they OE fenders ?

WileE is right. Maybe you can pull in the corners of your front fenders by moving the support rods? That’s where I would start

Fenders “look” fine to me, good gaps around hood etc. no clue if original or aftermarket fenders… bolt holes are very close

Those bumpers have been cranked out by the thousands by now - all from the same dies. So unless you happened to get the very first bumper from a brand new manufacturer - which I seriously doubt - the problem is your car. If the bumpers were an issue we'd have heard about it long before now.

You need to understand, this is MY aftermarket bumper- so it will def not fit.
2 6x6 wood blocks, couple microfiber towels, enclosed trailer with 2x6 a-frame at the tongue. Slipped each end of bumper under frame, on top of the blocks and pull- fits like a glove now!
