Again Engine knock

I didn`t read all these posts, but in 1969 I bought a new coronet RT,440 4 speed, w/ power steering only. Car fast as hell on the hi way , not so much in a dragrace. It had a slight knock at idle, turned out to be the heat riser fluttering, I wired it open .
yep, I remember those rattling heat risers! had to wire mine up too or it would drive you crazy.

I had someone listen to the knock in my engine and they agree there is something amiss. What i did notice is when the engine is cold three may be a knock but its barely noticeable,if at all. When the engine is warm then you can hear it. I pulled off the valve cover and saw nothing out of place. Could a wiped cam lobe give me this noise as the car is not posing through carb but could run better. Any thoughts and thanks
Steve, just solved mine today, two weeks ago was warming up my 509 64 bel, new motor, less than 300mi. was making a really ominus sound coming from deep inside the motor, could not put a finger on this one, wasn't a rod and wasn't a main, I went thru the build at least ten or fifteen times in my mind and could not come up with anything. went under the car to drain the water out of the block getting ready to pull and go back on the stand. was lying there on my back looking and noticed a pan bolt loose, then another and another, about five or six, reached up and felt of one the converter bolts, it was barely finger tight, and I am sure there are more, I remember locktiteing the flex plate but not the converter, 99.9 percent sure I have found the source of the noise in my engine, much work adverted. sun shines on a different dogs *** every day,!!!!! moral....look close, and I hope your solution is as simple as mine was. Dave

just came in from the shop from the restart, took out the converter bolts, locktited them and put back in(all were finger tight) started the car and the bad noise was gone, lucked out this time. Dave.
