Looks like more repop parts are gonna be produced! Now I don't have to worry about finding bumpers for my 73 that aren't bent into a pretzel!

Hopefully we'll see some quarter panels in the next few year, maybe even roof skins or fenders. Doors would be nice, but I'm just dreaming now.

I sent them another message earlier... They said if the hoods and bumpers sell well - than it's a high possibility to see more exterior sheetmetal. Hopefully that means quarters, decklids, roofskins, you get the idea.

The retool excuse floated on maybe 10 months ago. I remember when you already posted that
OER / Classic really needs to get their **** together... from what I see on their website, they've decided to only make the SE grilles and not the black and argent hardtop grilles.... Pisses me off.

No I don't and I can't find them either, but that happened me once searching for the headlamps fillers ( didn't want to appear ) untill I found it again somehow somewhere and saved at my wish list. Now the headlamps fillers floats up easily on a regular search but not the regular grilles... let's wait

I honestly think repopping the 73/74 grilles is a waste, especially at the price they were listed at. Who is going to spend $1300 to put new grilles on a $5,000 car?The SE guys probably need the grilles more than anyone because of the chroming but you can still find NOS examples for sale, for around $250-$400 each.

We DO need the fillers, and it would be smart to sell the retainers as a companion piece, although my originals are still good. I was speaking with someone about producing a small run of fillers before the CI announcement. The issue was that even if you had a NOS set to cast from, the fillers deform once they are separated from the grille shell. Probably why the new tooling did not come out as expected.

I am excited to see new bumpers on the way for 73/74. I will not be buying those immediately but will purchase them at some point in the next few years. I would recommend that CI also works on a complete set of urethane body fillers to match, as they would be a companion piece to the bumpers.

Some links. They did pull the listing for the standard grille shells, which makes no sense since it's the same part, just without the plastic chroming.

What other parts would you consider to be a good investment to reproduce? I would have to say roof skins and 71-74 Charger trunk lids. The skins will fit all b-body coupes 71-4 and the trunk lids seem to always be rotted. {EDIT - AFAIK they do not make the tail panel yet either, same reasoning as the 71-74 skins.}

Otherwise you can by with the floor and trunk pans that are already out there, although they are not identical to the 73/74 units. Fenders and quarters would be nice but I won't hold my breath - you are only looking at a two year model window and not even the same from dodge to plymouth.

73-74 Charger tail lamp housings are getting hard to come by in good shape, they would be worth it - if you could keep the cost down.

true! BTDT!!! I suffered once in my unknwonledgement from the original set from my car when I was painting it the first time and it took around 4 years to get a decent set back... with broken grilles but decent fillers ( still hardened ).

+1

more the rear bumper than the front since they rust out HARD from inside due the water coming down from trunk gutters

Yeah they are wayyy overpriced. But classic does have big discounts all the time, so they could be had for less than 1k.
