is a Holley carb taller than a Edelbrock ? I can't remember having not run a Holley in almost 50 years and don't want to.

Do you know if have a 400, or a 440 air cleaner? And do you know if the base is the same between them.

That’s a good question? I don’t know for sure. I was under the impression that the 400 and 440 were the same part #.

Now there’s an idea. I didn’t give the carb much considering. Different height carbs might make the difference. It has a 4150 series Holley now.

The flange on the bottom of the a/c is taller on a 400.
The pics of yours looks like a 440 version to me.

what else besides the cool plate do you have for gaskets under the carb ? how thick is that cool plate ?

looks like your carb is sitting high on the intake. are the 340 air cleaners different ?
