Anyone looking for a `66 Charger project?

I'm about to have one available. Don't know much about it yet accept for that it seemed really solid when I quickly looked at it in the rain last weekend, REALLY solid. Rolling chassis, G-code and I think it is an original silver car with red interior. No transmission and the original engine is long gone, but I will include a standard bore `68 383 that is disassembled and it has a clear title. I'm picking it up this weekend and get some pics up and come up with a price. I also know that it does not have the console or the instrument cluster with it and is missing quite a bit of its exterior trim. Located in the Detroit area.

That body style is notoriously hard to sell, unless you are practically giving it away. Good luck with it though.

I always thought that body style Charger would look great with some big rollers and lowered, But I would have to say they are a hard sell I have seen a couple that were in fantastic shape and took a LONG time to sell and I was surprised.
I watched the Mecum auction here in Indy last night and there was a original FM3 pather pink 70 Hemi Cuda' and it did not even meet reserve would not go over $100,000 And this car looked impeccable?? A couple years ago I think the car would have brought $150,000 easy? Good time to be a Mopar guy if your buying cause I think prices are soft everywhere, But IMO they were blown WAY WAY out of proportion a few years back, I had a guy tell me the other day he was mad that AMD was making all the panels to restore these cars cause it was going to drive the price of his car down!?? I was like are you serious?
I am a Mopar guy and if my Charger was worth $5.00 I would still spend a ton of money to fix it because I LOVE the cars!!!! Good luck with your sale lets see some pics when you get it!!!!!!!

I'd almost agree with that. It's a love it or hate it body style. Personally, I love it. But if I bring home one more car, my wife will be collecting my life insurance $. Good Luck

Although I LOVE the early Chargers many don't and they are the stepchild bottom rung on the vsalue laddar for Mopar B bodies.

You will likely get more money for it parting it out. You will have to check out the dash lighting sytem to see if it is in working order as that is a big item. The rear tail light assemble and lense is a big ticket item if good. The head light, motors, grille assembly brings pretty good money as well. There are more 66-67 Charger specific items then most think. The rear quarters/wheel wells are different from the Coronets with a MUCH bigger wheel well.

Much better then I could have asked for! Just backed in to the driveway with it so no pics yet, but this is a 383 Console 4spd car that is in fact silver over red and has the fender tag still attached. This one is way to nice to part out! I would sooner keep it then part it. Stay tuned...

All Right All Right! Torsion bar crossmember has rust issues on the passenger side and the lower extremes of the body has some mud in it. Don't know to what extent yet, still on trailer. Definitely solid rails and what I can see of the floors so far. 8.75 rear with 742 case, was told it was being used as a race car in a previous life. More to come.

Is it missing all the tail lights and head lights, grille? I like the old Direct Connection sticker on the quarter!!!!

Looks like it has already been stripped of all of the high $$ parts I mentioned in my earlier post. You are going to be in for a BIG surprise when you begine looking for those parts in good usable condition.

Here is how the fender tag reads
Premium red bucket seats
Silver monotone paint
Red horizontel accent stripe
Dark red UDF
383 4bbl
4spd floor shift
Buffed paint
Console & buckets
Suprisingly it doesn't mention the rear axle, but its not a sure grip.
Visually, no power steering or power brakes and no ac
3 spd wiper motor.
Comes with a grille assembly, no motors but has the rotating buckets and the center section along with the front driving lights. Has all seats without tracks. An instrument cluster and tail light buckets. All glass is good, no trim front and back but all of the side glass still trimmed. Missing the trim that runs the length of the car on the top of the fenders doors quarters.
No price just yet.

$2500.00 OBO and I'll throw in a standard bore 383 from a `68 that is disassembled.
Also have a freshly rebuilt 4spd from a `69 B-body that should work with this car and a bell housing that would be $1000.00 more.
