Anyone running a stock TB on a 4150 style intake?

Pretty much exactly the same path that I took, here is what I found out;

1. As far as making an LS TB work with a G3 Hemi harness, I am sure it can be done but as far as I know there isn't an adapter. That said I have see videos where they talk about using an LS TB on one so I am very sure its possible especially if you are using a Holley ECU and can configure it.

2. In reference to the LS TB adapter, this was the first route I went and it can work but the bolts for the Hemi TB end up very close to the O ring. The main problem at least for me was/is that the adapter sat too high and the air grabber door was hitting my air cleaner (not by much).

If I remember right the Hemi TB was offset slightly on the adapter due to the part that hangs down. If I were to do it again I would try and grind off some of the plate to allow the TB to be more centered (again, it was off just a tiny amount).

I still have mine hanging on the wall, I guess we could work something out on it if you were interested.
Well, the reason if it could have been a like a plug and play, because I am basically doing it just the same as an OC Performance setup on my 2010 5.7 Challenger. Since there is an Old school adapter plate made just for an LS throttle body out there, I would of tried to adapt an LS TB to my car, not that I would like it but, I would of tried it. But again, I could try to make a plate to accommodate the Mopar TB. I was chatting with another guy on a different forum that supposedly has an OC adapter plate, but I just need to be patient and hope to see if he'll find it.

I don't think adapting a LS TB to the Mopar harness is all that difficult but I just don't really know for sure. I meant to reach out to one of the EFI swap wiring harness companies (there are a few) and see about adapting the LS TB but changed paths before I could.

Putting a G3 Hemi TB onto the adapter plate wasn't all that hard, I just went and looked at mine and other than the bolt holes nothing else was needed. I will say that the O ring wasn't great from the beginning.

I seen, what you did. That's what I was picturing to do. Did you run it with that plate? Did it work fine? I have a ported 87mm throttle body now and it works great with a tune on the cat. I appreciate your input on this, there is actually nobody else that I know this mod. Until, I stumbled across your post in a Google search.

I did fire the car and it seemed to run good but I cannot really say for certain because I only ran it for a few minutes at a time.

You are putting this on a 10 Challenger? I have one of those as well, RT 6spd

Nice car!! I wasn't aware they did a Hurst car in 2010. I bought mine because I wanted a purple RT with a 6spd, didn't care about anything else but I did end up getting a super trac pac (4.10) with entertainment package and push to start.

I lowered it as soon as I got it, removed the rear resonators/mufflers, painted the wheels, added a CAI and a front strut and of course added a Mr. Norm's pistol grip. I added a pedal commander later on but to be honest I am not real excited about it (works good with an AT which I have in my 14 Ram). Last thing I did was add the rear window louvers and the 345 Hemi script.

I love the car but I have such a pile of vehicles I seldom drive it. I have plans at some point to put a cam and headers on it and probably do a big brake conversion. I've thought about doing a supercharger but have pretty much ruled that out.

I was just looking for a Black SRT at the time and stumbled on this, I am the second owner, the original owner given me all the paperwork and documentation for the car. I'm not in any way changing the stuff that can't be put back on. But, I would like to enhance the performance a bit. I have put Long tube headers with high flow cats, ported 87mm throttle body, and a 3.91 gear swap with a custom tune. I love hitting up the car shows, because not too many knew about the modern Hurst conversions back then. That's why I would love to do the old school look on the engine, without going over board. I would still like to do a cam eventually.

Yeah its a cool car, is it a manual or auto?

I wanted to get another Challenger and do the Cuda conversion, put on the AAR hood and stripes and then get a Challenger TA and I would be set... LOL Instead I have a 70 Challenger RT 440, 73 Cuda resto mod, 01 Viper, 70 Roadrunner project, 71 Charger resto mod (almost done) and a 68 Cuda project car. I've said a number of times that I should sell my old stuff and get more new stuff.

Oh man, you definitely have a collection. I'm jealous here, my car is and automatic, but I always drive it in manel shift. It's really fun with the Pedal Commander, it totally turned it into a beast. Might need to put a set of Nittos because it could get scary. I would like to see pics of your 70 Challenger you have. Don't sell all the old cars, because those cars are alot easier to work on, these new ones, you gotta be a computer wiz to work on them but, really fun to drive!!! Lol!!!!

I agree that the pedal commander is cool on an AT vehicle. Like I said I have one on my 14 Ram 2500 4x4 and it really changed it.

Here are some pics of my 70 Challenger. I bought it in 2000 and drug it out of a field basically. It is a true U code (440) car, AT, PS, PB, AC, Trac Pac (3.55 sg), Go Mango EK2, Blk interior, premium buckets, console, blk vinyl top, blk longitudinal stripe, CA code car.

It is currently painted EV2 Hemi orange, has a date correct correct 440 and 727 AT with a EFI 6 pack, MSD 6AL, Holley Hall Effect distributor, etc.
