As Promised

Well.....the owner came out today. I finished up the hoses and a few other lil things before pushing the car back so it's rump was outside the shop. Since the new gas tank hasn't arrived yet, a 5 gallon jug of juice and 5' of 5/16" fuel line had to fill in. And after about 15 seconds of cranking......WHOOM....it fires right up. Couldn't believe I had the rough timing so close (single point too)

Anyway, I fired up the old SnapOn dial back timing light to dial it in, then let it run for about 15 minutes @ 2000 rpm. (sounds like baking a cake doesn't it?). No rattles or creeks. A minor fuel leak at the carb and a small but annoying leak from the passenger's valve cover were all that was a problem. However, it's gonna need a new temp and oil pressure sender. A bit unnerving to fire a new motor with no gauges :rolling:

It's going home tomorrow.

70' is my favorite year!

Those updates are keeping me motivted, mine has been sitting way too long. you kind of loose track of what you have. I just restarted on my 70' hardtop EV2, V code 440 six barrel project. Sure is a lot easier to find parts these days, but the prices are getting steep. I have owned (3) 70's since 1984.

70 's are my favorite also I have two , one convertible one post .
