B Bodies and Road Courses - My Super Bee Setup

I have 24+ years of hot road course laps in various mopars, so i may know something. JCC knows nothing about street driven cars set up for hot laps and how the lap times drop with changes made to the car over time and laps. The deflection is blah blah blah as it's the sum of the parts working together.

The people running road course laps are welcome to pm me and i will share my experiences and information, but since JCC is ruining this I have little to contibute on the thread

The concept is to set up the car so it rotates thru the turns at speed, i have such a car that rotates, has no cage, does not flex, rotates, handles flat, impresses everyone [track workers, instructors and participants] at the track [lol] and it runs the number for hot lap for my track on z rated full tread tires. It's a lot of fun when the car gets "inspected" by the lap time nerds.
Front and rear bars etc................................................................................

Autocross is not a good way to determine a cars total handling manners and never does it test the braking system as a road course does. This is not to offend yuse [sic] guys that like autocross - when you have cars like mine only hot laps will satisfy the craving for speed
Yes please enlighten us noobs on the current car, what tires, mods, alignment...

Lots of "I have such a car" and "of said car".. I've never met a car guy let a lone a Mopar guy talk like this. Not saying that "said car" doesn't exist but it seems strange the poster would not at least provide the model (since he did say it was a Mopar). Perhaps the "said car" is a Viper ACR GTS... I have such a car... LOL

To the OP, thank you for sharing- your car is awesome! My 70 Bee definitely has a drag strip attitude, and the details in your post have given real inspiration.
Thank you!

Mike-
I tried private messaging you but your inbox is full.
Too bad this thread turned to the high school drama session that it did. Keep it technical or duke it out in private boys!

Mike, since you’ve had the car a few years now, is there anything you’d change? Advise against or for?
I have a 67 Belvedere I am working on and trying to keep it more simple than past builds I’ve done and your setup seems to fit that bill well. Just wanted to see if you had since changed or wanted to change anything for any particular reason.

Thanks for the great thread!

I’ve wanted to do a little more with brakes and tires, but everything has been great. I’d like to go to the larger 11.75 discs up front, and a rear disc conversion that still uses the stock tapered bearings. But to be honest, it’s been so good as is, I haven’t been very motivated to do those changes.

I am planning to go back to the track in July. I’m working on getting some Hoosiers and 15x8 wheels by then. Looking at 26.5x8.0x15 Hoosiers Vintage Road Racing tires and Basset 15x8 steel wheels. I want to have the same size on each corner.

If anyone wants to go to the track with us, we are going to Thunderhill July 5-6, 2025, and are registered through SpeedSF.

Sorry my inbox is full, not really sure how to clear it. You can find me on YouTube at SuperBeeMike or Instagram @superbee.mike
