Bell housing runout

The dial indicator mount I made for this job a few years ago, it screws into a flywheel mounting bolt hole.... Screw it in & lock the nut down, it doesn't move.... Then set the depth and lock that setting...

That is great.
I was a newbie when I did the runout check in 2021 so I stumbled a lot.
I didn’t consider modifying the rods to fit the application.
I will from now on.
Since I don’t have the fancy mills and lathes, I’d be the guy welding that rod to a crank bolt. It would work but wouldn’t look as nice.

I like the looks of that. If you still have your lathe, and are interested, I would buy one if you want a little side job....
