Bench seat to buckets and console.

Yeah, I have never seen a bench seat in a '67 Charger. We need pictures to see what is going on. If your car has reinforcement plates welded to the front floor, near the transmission tunnel, your car originally had bucket seats. The console became an option in 1967, so many of these Chargers were built with a "Buddy" seat between the buckets, or nothing at all. In either case, an automatic car would have column shift.
Oh, so is it the same bucket seat as with the console setup, and it just has a different "filler" and not a console? Maybe that explains why I cannot find seat covers for a bench seat.

This is what I'm buying. I will have better pics when I bring it home. I guess its hard to tell what type of seat that could be.

That's

It was listed as a 67, and he is a car guy, so hopefully he knows what it is. The car is in VA. He's giving me everything I need for $1250. Seats, console, column and whatever I need. Wanna hear something funny, he called me today. I told him I live in N.J, so he asked me if I can maybe rent a trailer and pick up a car for him and he would give me the parts I need for free. It would just cost me the price of the trailer rental.

This is one pic of the interior for the parts car.

That's a 67
Cool. I'm goin on Thursday to pick my car up, Thanks to you guys, I have better understanding of the seats. I'm hoping they are bucket seats just missing the console. Funny thing is, the VIN has a P for Premium, what the hell did they consider Premium back then? There's no A/C or a console.

I've never heard of a bench seat 67 Charger?
Can you show pictures of the existing arrangement?

I do agree a bench seat would be awful in a Charger.
I found a parts car that has a full interior in the same color as my 67 Charger. I know I will have to make a hole in the floorboard and was wondering what else I would need to do. Can I drill out spot welds for the console mounts or just cut them out? Also, for the bucket seats, are the holes in the floor already there or would I have to drill new ones? I plan on taking the steering column, console, any harness's(I can new ones cheap) I can get at, the linkage and the shifter arm. For me the cost and the work should be well worth it, lets face it, buckets and a console are much cooler than a bench seat. Let me know what you guys think.

Here is the fender tag for the car I bought. Its allot like its new owner, a little rusty.

Ok, Wow, I thought maybe is was because of the 383. I guess the Charger was their top model back then.
Barely any cars up here with A/C. Yes the charger was the premium flagship model . XP29. In 66 full length console was mandatory, but in 67 they made the car more flexible for buyers with the short console, or none at all.
Your fender tag shows buckets / buddy seat. 383 2bbl car. Scheduled may 23. Birthday coming up

So I wont really need the buckets from the parts car, just take out the buddy seat and replace with console and I'm good?

And that begs to ask another question, are the mounts the same for the buddy seat and the console?

I would concur with the buddy seat perspective. My parents bought right off the showroom floor a 67 gold on gold Charger that year. It did have column shift and no console. The middle seat was a buddy seat; not a bench. Can't believe my dad gave it away in 1981 because rust was starting around the windshield and had a rust hole in the trunk lid......$600.00, go figure.

Well, $600 in 1981 was is around $2100 in todays money. I think your right......your dad gave it away.

One other thing to think about. If the OPs current car is an auto on the column, and he plans to put in a floor shifted console, then he'll need the transmission tail shaft bracket that holds the shifter rod under the car. Also, not all tail shafts have the boss on them to bolt that bracket, so he might need to pull the tail shaft off the donor car.

Note: This is the case for later cars, and I am assuming this same design was used in 67...

So its not just the linkage that I would have to pull? Is there a way to tell if I have the right tail shaft for this conversion? I don't believe the parts car has an engine or tranny. I have a 727 transmission BTW.
