I have an article somewhere from either Popular Science or Mechanics from the late 80's or early 90's where they did an interview with Gary Ormsby's crew chief. He was talking about all the mechanical things going on in a top fuel dragster. When asked about using nitromethane as a fuel, he said "It's like plunging a toilet with a Claymore mine. It's very effective, but hard on the equipment."

That quote has stuck with me for over 30 yrs.
