15x10" and 5" BSWhat rim size and off set out back
I had never heard this about mismatching rear tire sizes with a sure grip. If this is true, I'm very glad to learn this.Great thread, super informative. On a thread I started today regarding a spare tire I learned with Suregrip rear end you must use the same height/radius wheel tire combo otherwise you can mash up the gears.
I currently have 235-60-15 fronts and 275-60-15 rears.
It was suggested to use a 275-60-15 for the spare I believe. BUT if I recall the 275-60-15 will not fit up front.
So what spare tire do you guys run when using different sets front and back AND have Suregrips?
I carry a skinny tire as close as possible to the height of the rear tire. 215/75x15 is only 1/4" shorter than a 275/60. 726 revs/mile vs 721. Take a few pounds out of the 275, and they're the same.Great thread, super informative. Will it rub up front? Have you tried this?I would find a skinny tire that is the same diameter as yours 275x60x15. That should work until you get to a tire shop.
Or join AAA.

Love this look. Fills the wheel well without the jacked up look. Some different 295's on my red Challenger also.
I have a 235/75x15 on the front of my 62 savoy, and it does rub on a header tube, but not on the fender. Will it rub up front? Have you tried this?
I have 215x75x15 on the front. 275x60x15 on the back. 7”rims front, 8” on back. Will it rub up front? Have you tried this?
Looks great! What size tires are the fronts?
It is very true. Don’t know at what diameter it starts to really make a difference. I would measure the trunk well to see what tire will fit .I had never heard this about mismatching rear tire sizes with a sure grip. If this is true, I'm very glad to learn this.
I don’t recall. I will have to check next time I’m out there. I want to say 235-70-15 but I’m not sure.Looks great! What size tires are the fronts?
But fat tires look cool and old Mopar's aren’t canyon cutters lol. Seriously though I would actually like to try super narrow tires in front to see the difference. I recall seeing super narrow tires on my buddy’s brother’s Duster back in the seventies. He used to track it so it was set up more for drag that street and I always wondered what it drove like on the street. It I am sure had a small contact patch….My theory, the fatter the tire on the front is, it will tend to skate more on roads that are not perfect.
But this post mainly includes cars not driven that often.
Example I like to use is.
Some people here have too put big tall wide mud tires on their raised vehicles.
I told a friend those tires are good in mud and sand. After he wore them out he brought more realistic tires.
We don’t have a long season where there’s a lot of sand or mud to be in. Big wide tires are not good in snow, ice or rain. They just don’t bite.
But they look pretty.
Everyone has an opinion and that’s mine.
