best tire combo? 275/60/15 rear.. 235/60/15 looks short for front.

But fat tires look cool and old Mopar's aren’t canyon cutters lol. Seriously though I would actually like to try super narrow tires in front to see the difference. I recall seeing super narrow tires on my buddy’s brother’s Duster back in the seventies. He used to track it so it was set up more for drag that street and I always wondered what it drove like on the street. It I am sure had a small contact patch….
These are 26x6 on 15x4.5 wheels. I drive it everywhere. There’s not even a front sway bar on it. It obviously doesn’t handle like a modern car, but it can drive anywhere without major concern.

I’ve been driving these cars for over 50 years. Never felt they were unsafe back then, and they were all the same. Today, with aluminum engine components and larger radial tires, they handle much better. Definitely not like modern cars, but plenty safe when driven appropriately. It then again my DD is a minivan.

I’m running 15x8 magnum 500’s front and rear on my Bee . P275/60 on rear, P245/60 on front, 4.25 backspace IIRC. No rubs. 70’s on front would give near equal height with rear and improve caster.

These are 29” diameter rear tires. Planning to run a 30” tire on this car. The axle is moved back 1/4” in this photo with a 2” lowering block.

I had never heard this about mismatching rear tire sizes with a sure grip. If this is true, I'm very glad to learn this.
It was stated that it would mess up the gears. That's not strictly true. Won't hurt the r&p. It WILL definitely accelerate wear of clutches in a clutch type sg, and ruin a cone style sg even faster.
It won't be doing any favors for the side gears or spiders, either.

The rear axle in a stock 62 is quite biased to the front of the wheelwell opening. I moved my axle back a full inch.
I've got 28" tires on it now, but room for 9x30s too. I don't think the 28s would have fit without moving the rear.

I think most b bodies are this way to some degree. I can get 28s on my other roadrunner with stock wheel wells and axle location but 30s are a no go. I’ll probably get 30s on the blue one. Well see.

E Bodies are more forgiving than B Bodies, especially early B's. I can get a 30" tall tires under it in the stock location axle and unmodified wheel well openings with the factory trim moldings.

I'm sure there's best as far as look but after building the engine it mostly felt dangerous on the BFG's.

Easier to find larger diameter tires that are more capable but I really do like the look of 15's.

I ended up going with avon cr6zz road race tires. Vintage looking tread and still ran 11.3 with stick shift and 4,270 race weight.

what tire sizes are those? From the prices I'm seeing online for these, they sure are expensive!
How's the handling in twisty turn driving compared to something like Cooper cobras?

245 60 15 and 295 50 15

I had BFG radial T/A on it before. I would guess the Coopers are similar or slightly better than BFG.

These aren't even comparable. It's like a completely different car in terms of acceleration and handling.
