Posting here again as I need some help from the Big block racers. Need to see if I can set up baselines allowing people with big block to participate in the penalty box race.
TDC car 3300lbs. 318 2v stock 2.76:1 gears with 904 trans dual exhaust. E.T. 15.9 baseline.
Ok starting with the same TDC car as the penalty box do these seem like realistic e.t.'s?
383 15.2
400 14.4
440 13.86
My problem is that the # for the increase in cid decreases with each jump of say 20 cid.
318 .05
340 .045
360 .0425
383 .0396
400 .0360
440 .0315
Just math and not sure where to take my baseline e.t. sources from to give a good run as 1/4 mile data is inconsistant.
Thank you in advance.

It doesn't quite work that way.

Exactly. The small block breakdown is set up off someones personal experiance with the changes in engine size and modifications to the small blocks. I dont have the background in the big blocks and I am just hosting this so the guys can have fun. We had requests to make it more than just small blocks but not getting enough feedback to set it up.

I'm not a racer by any measure but if you are hosting a small block race I would keep just that . If the big block guys want to come out to play let them do so in a test in tune or maybe look at how it's done in other racing classes. I don't see how you could make up a class only based on c.i.even with weight penalties A 2900 lb. car with a blown 440 or NO2 car against a 4100 lb. 440 isn't going to be much of a race. Maybe do a 10.50 index ,a 11.50,12.50 index or something like that. You already know what's going to happen ,a lot of guys crying about this and that and here you were just trying to host a race so guys can have some fun. Anyway, just my 2 cents. The math isn't linear. It is a cool thing your doing by hosting an event like that ,good luck and have fun with it.
