........the weldable primer I use is very watery, and anti rust
I brush it in the rails, it runs under all the little support brackets .......I brush it, and puddle it in hard to get places and blow it in with compressed air, it easily runs into all the seams

Thank you. Good to get info from someone in the trenches. How is that weldable primer for bond? The Cali stuff out here doesn't stick worth a damn. Had some come off with my fingernail even after roughing up the steel and wiping down with Acetone to clean before priming. Pretty much just use Ospho now as the 1st treatment.

I've never had an issue with it..... I do rough up the metal first

I wipe it down with Acetone first, rough it up, Acetone again, then Ospho. Currently I'm using the Eastwood internal frame coating, polymer one, to coat. I modified one of the spray hoses. Cut off the multi spray head, slipped a butt connector in the hose, partially crimped the exposed end. Acts like a fire hose to jet the coating into the seams, welds etc.
Gotta love Cali and their less lethal[ less useful] rules.

I always see labels that say not to use thinner as a cleaner, I assume the same for acetone......... I always clean with a wax/grease remover; or a purple degreaser and water early in the build

You would like my 66 Belvedere 2dr sedan....pretty solid car too! Except for the fact it's just a Belvedere I 2dr sedan but I like them.

if I were to build a straight up street rod, your 66 would be one of my choices....... I like them a lot

My plan at first was to build it into an NSS car and started collecting 67 exterior parts for it since the rules dictated that I had to use different carbs for a 66 and the 67 carbs were better and a 66 big block car had to use those "terrible" carbs. Bought roll cage material (have a bender) and on and on. Even got a new Jerico 4 speed from a guy that never used it. As time went on, I saw how expensive this was going to get so changed my mind to just regular bracket racing. Won a trophy with it on the fifth time out (7 rounds of racing) making big changes the first 4 times out. The car was terrible reacting off the line and wasn't consistent at all. Anyways. Then I decided to just street the car but life really got in the way by then....and now I'm 74 all of a sudden. Just glad I got to drive it for the first 10 years and the factory AC still worked!

As long as you are confident with the quality of the parts and installation, you should be good to go. It would be great to see you get your car done! The cobbler is always the guy who needs new shoes!

Kinda the same with carpenters! But dad wasn't that way. He liked to keep up a nice house but I can see where someone might not keep things real nice because they are so busy....especially the ones that are good.
