Brake fluid. DOT 5 versus DOT 3 or 4 ...Paint safe?

Using Dot 5 in a couple of my old cars for over 20 something years, brake pedal is perfect.
Never had a problem, it's the way to go in my opinion

I’ve used DOT 5 in several cars without issue. Being paint safe and not absorbing moisture are my primary reasons for using it.

I have had DOT 5 fluid in my Charger since 1985. No issues. I initially used it to protect the paint when removing the master cylinder for the periodic valve lash adjustments. The fact that it is non-hydroscopic is a bonus.
