Hello Guys,
I took my 1964 Plymouth Fury wagon out for it's true Maiden voyage on the main highway after working on it the past year and a half. I bought the car that was originally equipped with a 318 Poly and 727 trans. Someone, a long time ago started installing a big block and I assume the 727 trans and drive shaft from the big block. Not sure on the drive shaft. Completed the swap. When I purchased the car the drive shaft was not connected to the rear end. I purchased a ujoint from Autozone and proceeded to "Ease" the car around the neighborhood. After getting the trans rebuilt and installed I did a few more neighborhood drives. Yesterday when I got up the nerve to take it out on the four lane when it shifted from second to third I heard a loud bang and the car shuttered like crazy. I pulled over looked underneath and didn't see anything. I nursed it back to the neighborhood and the vibration continued. Right before I got home I heard a load bang and the delightful "Tingling" sound of the drive shaft on the road. I have attached some pics. I have been reading and it seems I may deed a "Conversion" ujoint any thoughts?
Thanks,
Everitt
