Anyone ever reworked the bulkhead/firewall wires on a 67 Charger? Or any b body for that matter. I want to clean it up and make all the connections clean and easy to work with. Pictures- advice- warnings...? Nothing critical, just do stupid things when I get bored haha. I was looking at those deutsch connectors

In my humble experience, stock setup is just fine except for the charging paths, which demands an upgrade with straight paths out of the bulkhead ( or a parallel paths along with the existant one if they are still on good conditions ). Packard terminals aren't able to hold the charging loads even less with stock alternators which on low RPMs are unable to hold the car load demand ( which keeps sucking out the batt ) and when giving RPMs up the load is increased by x2 what packards are able to handle to provide the car load and the battery recharge. If the alternator was efficient at iddle they could resist better the designated job because was to be more constant without high peaks of load keeping the batt out of the game.

Terminals can be cleaned with a degreaser and a brush for dust and grease and sink them on a vinegar with a bit of salt for sulfating/oxidation clean up for 3 or 4 hours. Then a baking soda solution for acids removing. And done.

I usually use conductive electrical grease (No Ox) also called light bulb grease on all electrical connections after cleaning. But on the bulkhead because the close proximity of all the connections, I think I would use dielectric grease since it will not conduct current if some excess is on the conductors. I doubt pure NoOx itself will conduct current but why take a chance on promoting leakage between connectors.
