    A fairly long chain was welded on the passenger side of the engine compartment...I've got no idea what it could be used for. Thanks for the help!

    Seems like way too much chain to strap down a motor...unless it was litterally draped over the top and holding it in place because someone wanted to move the car and didn't have proper engine mount hardware (I have seen some crazy 'farm fixes') Does it really matter? Just grab a grinder and cut it out.

      Yes if used as well torque strap would be on drivers side.

      You use it in conjunction with a sky hook if you ever have to change a flat on the right front...
