I put my 62 Savoy up on Jack stands for winter. I noticed the doors are a bit sticky when l open them. I have sub frame connectors. Is there any problems leaving it that way until Spring ?
 
No. People do it all the time. I would put jack stands in the middle of the car too, that way the car is supported in 3 spots.
 
I like the front jack stands under the K member. That’s where all the weight is. If you put them under the front rails by the front door post the front engine weight is out past them and hanging,

I like the idea of Jack stands under the k member too, and since he has frame connectors he can put them under the doors and a 3rd set under the factory jacking points.

If I were to store a car on stands I think I would leave some load on the suspension. Stands under rear axle and the under control arms out towards the tire.

Out of curiosity, what is the perceived benefit of storing a car on stands. Other than flat spotting tires?
 
I do it cuz it feels good.
 
If you place the jack stands under the rear axle and lower control arms so that the car weight is still being carried on the suspension system, your doors will open and close as normal. Putting the unit body on stands introduces different stresses on the body, possibly temporarily affecting panel alignments. Another storage tip is to turn your sun visors down, so little critters do not have a shelf to sit on while chewing their way through your headliner.
 
When l put it away for winter there were some clean up issues from a leaky rad hose that made a mess of the undercarriage that l didn't have time for. I figured I'd get around to it in the next few months
 
I just push my cars back and forth several inches throughout the winter to avoid flat spots. Although if it is not snowing I am still driving them.
 
Don't the flat spot go away after a few miles.
Not on all tires. I have reproduction polyglas tires that flat spots won’t go away anymore. But they are 20 years old now, look perfect.

I should put them on a beater pickup and drive until they get round or explode.

20 year old reproductions? On poly glass,maybe a reproduction of a blowout.

Mine are coming up on 32... but might be time to change them soon. I've never noticed them flat spotting even after sitting for years...

You hear everything about tires and age.UV rays,heat, electrical appliances,inflation, all are told that they cause a tire to break down.
Out here in the dry hot desert (Dry rot) they don't last too long unless precautions are taken.
I feel if you take the precautions and take care,a tire will last quite a long time in normal short range street driving. I do get a bit worried after 10 or so years.
I have always wanted a durometer gauge to test the tire when new and watch the progression of hardness with age.Never got one though.
