Carb Rebuild Kits

In 1968 they didn't have them.
Fran, you remember when I was having bad bog issues 3 years ago or so with my 66 Hemi? From a slow roll I couldn’t slam the pedal to the floor without a big bog. I finally put my accelerator pumps on the inside hole and installed Powerblast Plates on the shooters to get rid of it. Now it’s just occurred to me that maybe one or both of my check valves might be bad and the pump backflowing to the float bowl rather than sending a full charge out the shooter. I think I need to change those out now for good measure.

Yes I remember but forgot about the cure. Are you going to remove the Powerblast Plates to see if the check valve cures bog? Sent my 4140 to Woodruff Carb because I couldn't remove the check valve and the 2 jets on driver's side. He got them out, I didn't want to butcher and then send the carb out, tried each one once and quit. Carb had a load of grit from guy I bought it from. Haven't put carb on my car.

I probably will but I’m in no hurry as they are working well for now. I’ve been toying with sending them to Woodruff over the winter because both carbs need bushing in the primary shafts and it’s hard to beat the “as-new” appearance when they come back.

Are you going for a full restoration?

#'s are 4139S C6 & 4140S C6. Seller said they are original hemi carbs...
I once picked up a pair of those at a local swap meet near London, Ontario, about 25 years ago. A Chevy guy had them sitting on a SBC 2x4 intake. I knew they were Mopar carbs, not Chevy, by where fuel line screwed in at left rear corner. Then, I recognized the carb #'s as Hemi pieces. I paid him $80.00, all the $$$ I had left for the day. He didn't know what he had, but I did!
These carb's went on my friend, Richard's, 1966 426 Hemi Charger. I had previously loaned him my pair of '62 Chrysler 300H AFB's, to get his engine running. I sold the Hemi carb's to him for the "friends and family" price of $300.00, plus I got my AFB's back. We had seen carb's like these for sale at Carlisle for about $1200.00 per pair. This remains my "best ever" score at a swap meet. And, I have had quite a few.

I picked up a pair of Hygrade carb kits for a friend's AFB 3705 Max Wedge carb's, here in Ontario, from Parts Avatar, in Mississauga, this past spring.
