I hope your right as I did not like the vibe and low turn-out by both vendors and buyers...and the cars for sale area had about 10 in it by 4pm and the show field was basically non-existent having to walk 60-70 yards to see 3-4 cars... Anyway I did my part and spent some $$ up there supporting who showed up. I was able to get credit for 3 of my 5 spaces for 2021 which was great Thanks to talking to Richard @69bfan
Good turnout today. Lot more swap meet people showed and show field is good. All things considered I think it’s a good turnout.
The consensus at the FBBO tent was it's approaching 75+ % both in showfield and vendors. Not bad for possibly the only major Mopar show this year. Get here if you can. I bought parts I don't need, prices were right so I'm stockpiling spares.... Stop by the tent if you can, I'll bring more water tomorrow, and "other" beverages. Hawk and others are gracious hosts! Maybe more pics tomorrow Disclaimer--- not our tent
I will be there at 7-8 am tomorrow! Going to meet 68Coronet440318 in the AM to drop of a bumper jack, then on to the show!!!
I agree it was raining down here and forecast was for heavy rain all day(which it did) here where I live so I headed back up and got there about 11 and left about 3:30. Lots more people for sure didn't see many carrying parts though... I was able to get some nice Nos parts parts today. Glad to see a bigger crowd.
I was not selling this year but I used one to park and gave one ticket to a friend so he could park inside.. I went and explained it to management and they asked if I had my paperwork and stickers so I went and got them and she took my 3 remaining stickers and credited me $270 towards next year..
We DoDGED the big one here today @ Chryslers @ Carlisle... That tropical storm Faye (not a hurricane -- "Only 50 - 60 Miles per hour winds!!). With an extremely wide swarth of rainfall, wreaked havoc from the Atlantic Seacoast to Harrisburg -- 15 minutes from here -- and we got NOT a drop !!!!! We estimated 75 % of the vendors are here... We estimated foot traffic at 50 - 60 %.... Today was drop dead gorgeous !!!! If you are on the fence about coming tomorrow --- I have 3 words for you ----- Come On Down !!!!!!!
Happy for all who went, and way to represent too! I was going to go for the first time this year, but I've been waiting since February to get my car in the shop for a TON of upgrades and add ons, and the shop owner/mechanic said September, maybe Labor Day, and it's been there about 3 weeks now. Since this guy is THE guy to do this work, and I'd be lost if he wasn't available, I agreed. Cruisin the Coast every October is my and my wife's ABSOLUTE must attend, 8 days of wonderful classic car experiences, and over 7,800 cars last year, and less than an hour from home. So we will have A/C and all kinds of other new stuff to enjoy and show on our cars this year, but I have to give up all summer to make it happen. HAVE FUN, AND...
I went on Friday ,seemed to be about 70 percent or so filled. Not a lot of early b bodies ,much more a and e bodies but whatever still had a good time and picked up some small parts i needed. With basically no shows going on so far around here ( that i care about) it was worth the 2 1/2 hour trip .
First, apologies for not stopping by the tent. Got in yesterday around 8:30, setup and went for a walk through the swap meet. Back around 10:30 and then had a work emergency and wound up spending most of the rest of the day on the phone . So if you saw my ‘65 Coronet convertible and a guy behind it on a headset, that was me. Wound up getting 3rd in the 62-65 B body stock class
That van was pretty cool, the note on the windshield was from someone wanting to know if it was for sale.
Thanks for posting....I wish I had not cancelled my plans to go....I was really looking forward to the car corral, hoping a couple low mile, unmolested, ‘63 Fury or Polara drop tops might show....or heck, any low mile ‘63’s ... Everyone travel safe and with care.... thanks for Posting!
