I'm always on the lookout for cars that will appreciate no matter what make.
We all know now we should have mortgaged to house to buy a Demon and sold it for double.

I was reading an article in Hemming Muscle Cars about the Bullitt Mustang. Sounds cool but they don't say how many they'll make.

Just for fun I tried to find out if any the Hot Wheels or Transformer Camaros went up in value. Couldn't find that but I found my daughter's 81 Camaro went up 41% last year.

Wasn't there some special Kowlaski Edition Challengers? I find most like Mr. Norm's and Hurst Challengers to be very ugly.

Much of the value of cars is the perception of the buyers and their desire for nostalgia. as boomers start dying off the 40,s-early 70,s era cars will start to plummet in value. You can actually already see it with most of the crazy money only going to the most restomoded or rare optioned special collector cars. I think over the next decade the big ticket items will be special edition 80,s and 90,s cars. G-body,s, Firebirds/Camaros, c4 gransports and 5.0 mustangs, Syclone/Typhoon. Then of course the real money will be in the JAP performance market, Supra,s and Rx7,s will continue to increase in value.

To me, nothing from the 80's or 90's will ever be worth anything.
Can't think of any cars from those two decades that I really say "that's cool".
I liked the M body Diplomat, Gran Fury and 5th avenues, but don't see them going up in value.

I have to disagree, a 1987 Buick Grand National GNX is worth quite a bit.

I think 60's-mid 70's A-body MoPars will get some respect finally

I don't see the B-body of 68-70 especially, (even 71's)
Charger, Super Bee, R/T, Road Runner, GTX
going down in value anytime soon, I see the opposite, it's going up
slow but it will fluctuate some too

the mid-late 80's Buicks Turbo Regal, GNX, GS or Grand Nationals
are crazy priced now
a few years back you could get a nice one for low teens, not now

disclaimer; I know some will want to shoot me,
suggest to pull my MoPar card, but I'm an equal opportunity gear head

I think some of the Gen 3 & 4 Firebird, Formula, Trans Am/TA GT & Firehawk
especially anniversary editions
also the Gen 3 & 4 Camaro IROC-Z, Z28, SS
the Gen 2's in both have gone crazy of late
Gen 1's are ridiculous crazy priced
the Gen 3 & 4 will do well in the coming decade
they are decent cars, at the bottom of depreciation, right now
especially the 1993-2001's

I think the early Vipers will start to go up too
they are pretty much rock bottom of depreciation values, right now
they're cheap

I also think C-4 & C-5 Vetts will come up in value too
also at the rock bottom of depreciation values, right now
it may be 10+ years but it will happen, they're cheap

I said the same thing about the mid 70's - early 80's
Firebirds T/A's etc. 10 years ago
& I was spot on

'IMO if they were popular when new
sooner or later
they will eventually come back to popularity'

Trucks Trucks Trucks
late 70's & 80's-early 90's Ramchargers/Traidusters,
also the Power wagons or Power Rams possibly too
even the 80's-90's Blazer & Bronco will trend up
the truck/suv trend is crazy right now
Ford & Chevy 80's-90's 'crap' even

disclaimer; albeit I probably won't be buying any
I like the small mid-late 80's Charger, Laser, Scamp/Rampage, Turismo etc.
IMO will go up some too, fractionally, but not ever really worth much
can't go anyway but up from now
IMO they do make great light racecars,
when cut up, converted to rwd a cage
& a V8 installed, Resto-Moded or Pro-Touring etc.
you heard it here 1st

Chevrolet re-designed the Corvette for 1984 model year, don't know what they are worth now.

The c4 prices are still low. I actually looked at one 96 special edition Lt4 6 speed before I got my Cornet. It had 40k on the clock and the guy was going to let me have it for 8k. The only c4,s above 15k are GranSports and ZR-1s and those can get into the 30,s.

About as desirable as a Harley Davidson made by AMF. Worth? Not much now and not much in the future...not unlike my '79 Chrysler 300.:steering:

I think a big barn filled with 80's cool cars and parts might pay off in the future.

91-99 Mitsubishi 3000gt vr4
Awd twin turbo 322 h.p. the 95+ is the better year to get they had 6 speeds in them !
1990 + 300 zx twin turbo rwd (fair Lady z)
Both these cars can be had between $5000-10000 for a decent example there fast as hell and sleek !

81 Camaro going up in value? !!!!!!!!!

My first car, 84 Regal T-Type probably would have some value now if it didn't rust to hell after 60k
