Little off topic.. sorta

I just want some one to 3d print these things.. The emblem not the chrome.. I need both sides..

Nothing gives me a thrill like driving a older car, be it my old MG or now my 69 Sport Sat Convertible.
My brother has a I think its a 2010 RT Challenger with the Hemi. The car doesn't have 15,000 miles on it. It is immaculate and only driven in nice weather. Ive driven it twice and I would never buy one. Sure its fast and looks great but that's about it.
Different strokes for different folks although I might like that kind of performance of my brothers car in my 69, but id probably get myself in hot water if it did LOL.
Steve, it would be a thrill if the MG evented started!

I have both nothing like an old 60's model, I like to tweak the old cars out, its a sense of accomplishment getting all the factors in line to make them hum. but a new car with 700 horse is pretty fun in its own way, but it gets old, burning the tires with the touch of the throttle blowing away 95% of the cars on the road, doing nothing but putting gas in it and waxing. but have to agree, nothing like my 68 charger, beautiful car in design nothing like it and i havent driven it in nearly five years. a friend of mine wanted me to take my new challenger to a car show, I said why you can just buy one of these.

Dennis, mine had a more aggressive cam, bigger carbs and headers, maybe 100 hp. That car was so much fun to drive, if you didn't smile, check your pulse,LOL
You always thought you were going fast when in fact you were going 40MPH. Cheap to fix and parts were no problem.

I mean hell it takes 20k or more to restore one of these old cars who's to say that that's a smart investment for a car that will only sell for 35k.
Well, my Coronet is worth nothing to most people on the planet: original 318/904/2.76-geared grocery getter. I've sunk waaaay too much money into her, but that's the body style I love, and I don't ever plan on letting her go. Investment?... oh heck no. But that's my girl.

For what a new high end high powered car costs I can build ANY old iron to run and drive the same as new car can do. I have quite a lot of hard earned cash in both of my cars and they may not run like a new hemi 8 speed Challenger or vett but my old tech 383 and 4 speed rocks when I slam second gear as I try to push the gas pedle thru the floor. Fuel injection is for people who can't tune carbs....

I've had it all in my life, or almost. My 65 is hard to beat, new Hemi, 5 speed automatic and eats the streets like no ones business. Adjusting carbs is fun, but so were outhouses, no one uses them if they don't have to anymore either. Just saying, times have changed.

Our cars were once new and a dime a dozen on the road and considered not worth anything and loosing value quickly never mind the added loss of a modification.

we are in the new HP wars & "muscle car era"

Hell many "even the mini vans"
will walk on the ol' Iron, big time, unless
it's highly modified & even then sometimes too
"technology" has it's place, even with this "old fart"

I Like them both,
it'd be cool not having to wrench on stuff constantly,
to keep it tip top tune...
I do get a different type of experience driving or working on the RR,
it's all the sense "are alive", when driving it...

Albeit;
My newest MoPar is a 99 Dakota SLT 4x4, Magnum 5.2 ltr
with a bunch of bolt on's & tuner, maybe 300hp it's fun too
It's not the same as driving the RR, but still fun
& comfortable after I done having fun...
My sister has a 2017 Chrysler 300, loaded except for no Hemi
my dad bought her for her 60th BD
that thing is fast, even with a 300hp v6, It's fast for what it is...

I'd love to have a ARC Viper or a 96 GTS Viper
or a Demon, Red Eye or reg. Hellcat
even a Charger SRT Hellcat or even a Durango SRT
they'd be just different than driving the o'l Iron...

I've driven a bunch of the new Challengers & Rams or Durango etc.
they are nice, a few things I don't care for but it's not 1968 anymore
driven a couple friends Vipers
(don't like the exhaust tone, but I'd change the manifolds to long tube headers
& different mufflers to get a more v8 like sound & then live with it)

I'd like to build a Prowler, twin turbo'd or supercharged etc. too

cost & insurance cost of the new stuff
is the only thing stopping me, "usually" budget restraints...
I'd love to have several different models....

My biggest problem is I can't just leave anything alone...
I have to put my touch or personality into what ever I drive
old Iron or New Plastic :poke:

Hell I wish FCA/Dodge or Ram even
would come out with a SRT Dakota 4x4 Hellaphant or Hellcat
to eat the Raptors lunch :poke:

In the OP I was saying how fast they are. Sure the Sublime Green 1971 Challenger got a lot of attention in the pits. Bryce let a young man ride along with him on one run. By the time we returned home that guy had posted on his Instagram account that he had accomplished one of the things on his bucket list.

I disagree that young people today can't turn wrenches. Look how many LS and Hemi swaps are going on. Young guys can't afford a Hellcat or a 1969 Charger but they can put a modern Hemi in a cheap older car. Also, some of the stuff these young people are doing with diesels is amazing.

I put off buying a new "hotrod" for 10 years or more.....never did a thing for me. When my neighbor said he would sell me his 10 SRT 8 In black i almost passed on it....my truck is getting old but I'm too cheep to replace it.....so i bought the challenger....no it's not old school but it sure is fun. The wife asked ...when are you selling the 72.....never unless I get another old mopar.

My V6 mustang would have beat my slant 6 Dart. But the dart was more fun.
