Changing out heater core problem.

1973 Dodge Charger SE with air conditioning there's two nuts at the fire wall the larger one I can't see any where to put another wrench onto break it loose . Any suggestions ?

Those are compression nuts. Spray with penetrant. I wrap either pliers or channel locks with tape and lightly hold the copper tubes while slowly loosen the nut. If you can could you send me pics of your vacuum hose routing to the vacuum pods? My resto guy may have connected them wrong. Thanks.

I can once I get the box out I'll do that.
 
Those are the A/C lines. The large one has a plate over the nut end of the tube. Should be able to just wrench the big nut off.

Are you talking about the plate that I have loose against the fire wall ? I see like notches that goes against the nut .
 
Well I broke loose that big boy nut that plate was broken from the previous owner changing to R134A so I put a piece of 2x4 between the line and the fender well so it couldn't go any where and some penetrating oil it finally came loose. Thanks for all your help to the forum members it's greatly appreciated.

Well I installed it back in the car for awhile I was wondering if it would ever go back in the car lol. Patience is a key to installing it it tested mine ha ha.
