Has anyone changed the rear 1157 bulbs to leds? I bought some 1157 leds but they do not work.

There was a similar thread here not long ago and I believe the fix was relays were needed

Which bulbs did you buy? LEDs are not all created equal. Some are ready to go, others are not. If your turn signals are acting up you made a different flasher. You may also need to install a load resistor if you didn't get the bulbs that came with one pre-installed.

I didn't have any luck with the flasher update. I had to buy the four resisters, one per lamp to straiten the no flash/quick flash condition. I bough a pair of Wagner LED, touted to be the best when it came to brightness, but they weren't. The cheap corn cob design, was the brightest at less than half the Wagner price.

You have to beat on the parts guy as I did and had to come op with the part number
i used a fl66088 jetco flasher works from .02 amp up to 20 amp
works great with LEDs

I bought these in red and they worked for me: https://www.superbrightleds.com/mor...n-27-smd-led-tower-bay15d-retrofit/2625/5698/
I bought these turn signal flashers: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B01GIU9M0Y/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o03_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1

On my '69 Charger I needed 1156 bulbs for the inner brake lights, the 1157's didn't fit. You can see pictures of mine over at this thread on page 2:

Everything works great and the ammeter doesn't move when you depress the brakes.

Please clarify what you mean when you say "they do not work" ? ?
- - - - - they don't light up at all
- - - - - they don't flash for the turn signal

Swapped all my bulbs to LED and they work great with no load resistors needed. Did have a issue with the LED flasher unit, it would not work out of the box - a call to the Mfg indicated that the flasher unit and LED bulbs are polarity sensitive - swapped the two leads on the flasher and everything is working great now ( going on 2 years )

Standard flashers work with standard bulbs due to the high amps that they draw causing the metal to heat up and break the circuit ( bulb goes out ), cools off and connects the circuit ( bulb goes on ).

LEDs draw far less amps and as a result will not work with a standard flasher - you'll need to buy an LED flasher ( also called a no-load flasher ).

That top link, that's what I call the "corn cob," you can't beat the brightness IMHO.

check out "mustang project" for led headlight.

This is a great resource. I've been thinking about sequential rear turn signals for the charger for a while now and I see they have Mopar kits available. Thanks!

I bought the headlights. I hope to get them in this weekend. Now I can drive around with my brights on and nobody ever flashes their lights at me.
