Not sure if everyone knows about this but if you go onto youtube and search for "Chrysler Master Tech" there are a ton of service technician training videos from the 50s all the way up to the late 70's.. lots of really good info

We watched a lot of those in high school auto shop.

IIRC either allpar or mymopar has them.

My grandfather gave me this old shop manual from 1963 -1968 it's has over 1000 pages with every car from the big three. I've been using it a lot even though the book is falling apart

Looks like a "Motor" manual.

Those are the best, WAY better than Chilton's or (cringe) Clymer.

I have a '64, a '69 and '75.

Covers my preferred range quite nicely, and is a great supplement to my FSM collection.

Printed back when things were in the grasp of the mechanic and non of the take it to the dealer because we do not know how to tell you to fix it we find in todays manuals.

I watched them almost every month from 1986 to 2010 when I worked for a Dodge dealer. Ron

Ron, I did too, back in the 70's. We usually got a KFC dinner along with training and had a written test afterward. At years end we would get the "gold tool" award. Ahh, the good old days-no money-just fun!

Yes Ron,
I attended Ferris (Big Rapids, MI) from 1969-71 and took their Auto Service and Auto Machine courses. Did the "auto tech" thing from 71-78 in Mopar dealerships until I figured out I wasn't making any $. I then joined my local plumber/pipefitter union. I retired from the field in 2008 (started drawing my pension) but continued in the office, estimating, until 2015. Now I'm in the "monkey business"!

I figured that one out a year and a half in. Stopped turning wrenches at the Chrysler dealer ship in 74 went to construction and doubled the income.

I took auto shop in Md at Eastern Voc Tech high school from 1971 to 1974 and then went to work at a Ford dealership from 1974 until 1980 and then went to a independent shop until 1986. In May of 1986 I went to a Dodge dealer and stayed with Dodge until 2011 when I retired on disability. I did ok as I made average money because I was an honest tech and would not rip people off to make extra money and I was the shop foreman at the Dodge dealer for many of my years there. I did enjoy being a tech all my life but I will say I did not care for the politics of the flat rate pay system that I worked under many years. As shop foreman I did have a garunteed salary. Ron
