i find it bizarre! we live in a small rural town with its own quant village . our 2nd smoke shop is finally open . if you go south about 10 miles there is a small indian reservation that sells more smoke and vape stuff ! some of it will help you orbit the planet … go south and west about 25 miles yet another reservation and a whole bunch of smoke shops . this one also has a large casino if you got to much money you can donate …

Vape shops converted to medical marijuana here in Oklahoma. At 1 point we had more weed dispensers than Walmarts,dollar generals, and family dollars/dollar trees combined. I say its a sham. They should have just called it recreational.

The wife has recently quit smoking after a few decades. That's good, of course.
Her alternative - vaping.
Ugh.
Has more than one of those little time bomb electronic thingies with all the lights and such on it now...
And of course, she's now after me to do the same.

I try to tell her about the things catching fire (same battery deal as EV's, you know), to no avail.
Smells like someone burning incense around here now (something that literally gags me - I hate the
sickly sweet smell of incense and such).

There's plenty of vape shops around here (and most all the gas station/convenience stores sell it also).
Gotta keep the masses appeased and hooked on things so they're no trouble, you know.

Same here in the sinking ship state of Illinois. Vape shops and marijuana shops are among the few industries that are going strong. Add to that list a few casinos, most everything else is boarding up their buildings and moving to Texas, Florida or South Carolina.

Wow. I wonder what those three states have in common.

ANAHEIM, CA — Residents breathed a collective sigh of relief today as news broke that the city would finally be getting that 473rd vape shop it had so desperately needed.
Concern had grown in recent months that the 472 previously existing vape shops would not be sufficient to serve the needs of the community, leading citizens to celebrate the welcome addition of the 473rd vape shop.

"Thank God!" one resident said when he was told of the 473rd vape shop's imminent opening. "We were on the brink of societal collapse over here looking like some third-world country with only 472 vape shops. My family and I were sitting around the dinner table last night talking about how far the world has fallen, and how we may need to surrender to despair, but thankfully there is now hope for our city with this 473rd vape shop. It fills a huge, gaping void in the town."

A spokesperson for the Chamber of Commerce said there was full agreement during a special emergency session to unanimously approve the establishment of the 473rd vape shop. "It had to be done," she said. "Without the opening of this vape shop, the city would enter into a death spiral from which it would never recover. There is clearly enough demand for a 473rd vape shop and enough customers to keep them all in business, so we're confident these shops aren't a front for anything else."

At publishing time, the 473rd vape shop had announced it would only be open Tuesday through Thursday, between the hours of 11 AM and 2 PM.

it calmed me, so I thought....
& I smoked cigarettes socially, usually when drinking...
Started buying packs, smoked a 1/2 to a pack every couple days
that was enough after a couple years of chewing & smoking tobaccos
smoking it was more acceptable than chewing...
I did enjoy a good chew or a good cigar, I just can't do any of it
not worth it health wise...
I seen the light, just quit, it's not that hard....

LOL So back in January I spent a few days in Burbank for a photo shoot... My buddy & I decided to grab a drink... Hadn't noticed any bars near the hotel so asked the girl at the front desk.... She looked at me with such distain.. Apparently alcohol isn't acceptable in a modern society... But they did have four Hookah bars within a couple blocks.... And one of those did sell alcohol... $46 for one small margarita & a beer... Needless to say, we only had the one....

But while the Hookah bar only sold exotic tobacco & provided the Hookahs plenty of customers brought their own "tobacco" So.. Stoned outta your mind is cool, have a drink? Looser!!

Here in my little town we have 1 vape shop and 11 marijuana dispenserys. It's also legal for a minor to hold a medical marijuana card.

I can't blink my eyes around here without seeing a vape shop, dispensary, or head shop. It's saddening to me. I remember when some of these buildings housed things like ice cream shops, dry cleaners, daycares, or old-style non-chain parts stores. My wife and younger son use vapes. I don't like vapes at all. They do that crap outside.

Yearning for a simpler, safer time that will never happen.
