I've been chased plenty. In a bracket scenario Im ok at the stripe. The problem was I was much better on the tree in all my races down there. Knowing you're supposed to be running the same dial as the other car, it's hard to compute the big mph difference. Couple that with an .008 to .100 light, I get in my own head.Learning to be chased takes practice. When I ran my 11.70 car years ago the cut off was 11.99. I got chased a lot. When driving in the slow lane on the freeway towing is a great teaching opportunity. Watch cars coming on you in the faster lanes. Pick a reflector pole where you think the stripe will be. Gives you literally hundreds of runs to learn from. I do the in the fast lane on trips chasing the slow lane. Just made a trip to Florida and back 1300 miles each way. Got a lot of practice.

I wish I could say it’s only been thieves of items in my life.Thieves of hearts, thieves of trust and thieves of items are the worst. Sorry for your inconvenience. Time for a titanium roll cage surrounding those cats.

I scrubbed up to 15 mph on my passes that weekend. The only full passes I made were timeshots...
Here's a couple timeslips from the weekend.
I was 142 mph with my timeshots.

They've done it in my neighbor's drive, twice. Must be using a chain cutter.Nothing can make you question the state of the world like cat thieves.

I shoot for a MOV of .01-.02. Even at that sometimes taking the stripe will still break you out. But you'll win more than you lose. Learning the weather and adding weight to put you close to the index. We try to stay .02 of max.

I used to hate 8th mile racing. Im actually beginning to enjoy it especially on 8th mile only track...I miss bracket racing....funny that when it first came out, I didn't like it. My last race the track attendants were low so they grouped all the brackets together and went 7 rounds for the win. The slowest car out there (mine) beat the fastest out there. The track shut down recently due to no one wanting to buy it (the owners wanted to retire) out so track got sold out to warehouses. Anyways, and I hate 8th mile stuff that is still local around here plus, I'm old and done....
I think it makes you sharper.I used to hate 8th mile racing. Im actually beginning to enjoy it especially on 8th mile only track...
LOL.I think it makes you sharper.
Also less time to make the wrong decision.
When I race 1/4 I mostly spend the last part of the track wondering how long my engine will hold together.
