Tonight, I'm taking the wife and binoculars out to the lightly traveled toll by-pass where the angle toward the city will be off to the West and the trees shouldn't obscure the horizon too bad.
Fingers crossed.
Seeing the puffs from Shoemaker-Levy 9 impacting Jupiter on my 4 inch equatorial mount telescope is a tough act to follow, but this will be a worthy addition.
Wish I still had that scope.

Another bust.
Still too cloudy.
...but we did find what I think is a good spot.
Access road to newly constructed distribution centers leads to new home development area just South of the interstate.
No trees for a couple of miles and no city lights on the horizon.
Hopefully it will clear up soon.

Foiled again!
Went to the spot we picked out and there was only a light smattering of misty cloud cover.
Could see the dipper very well, but no Neowise below.
Either the thin clouds were thicker near the horizon or our horizon line was too high.
