That's a surprise....thought it was well beyond the view of the naked eye now....

It pretty much is. That photo was a 2 minute exposure according to snakeyes' link. It's also a composite of more than one shot. And while it was posted yesterday, the photographer hints that it was taken earlier in the summer. (EXIF info on the picture has a July 25 date.)
