Console light switch plunger

Should this switch have a plunger sticking out of it? It seems like there isnt a way to trigger the light to turn on or off.

Looks like the plunger is stuck in or the spring inside broke.

It should be spring loaded to the outer position, is any type of spring that you can see? Good Luck

Yes there is supposed to be a plastic piece sticking out of it. it just sits on top of the metal plunger. thats what depresses when you close the arm rest and turns off the light. it is plastic so it does not short to ground when pushed it.
