Console Repro differences? (68 Charger)

I got a new plastic console piece, OER: MB1701

It fits well but I am wondering if some things are repro-specific or changed through the model years?

1. On the repro there are two holes on the drivers side, these are not found on my original. What are those holes for?

2. On the repro the light bezels, door hinge and lock latch are screwed into plastic only. On my original I have metal brackets behind the plastic for the screws to grab into.
(Had to do some plastic shaving and drilling to get my metal brackets to fit again.)
Is this a repro thing only?

3. The bracket in the car to attach the rear of the console is not flat, thus the original console plastic has some extra material on one of the screw holes.
The repro is flat and needs some plastic shaving to fit.

Those holes look like to me someone started drilling to make a 4 speed console and stopped. They should not be there..

Are there any more differences between the Auto and manual console?

Im not sure but isnt the bracket at the back flat for the manual?
....so maybe the seller sent me a Manual console?

Those are the differences between Auto & 4 Speed. All differences are shown and only on Drivers side. As far as the rear bracket they are the same for Auto or Manual...

Yeah, Then Im even more confused why the extra holes are there and that this part is advertised as "original fit".

Again I think someone started to make it a 4 speed one and stopped... They should not have sent that out to you but they did...
