The famed actress has acknowledged that she is blind and vows to continue acting as she has a photographic memory and can remember any lines someone reads out for her. She says she just has to learn a new way to move about without tripping over anything. lol. Gotta love her.

Oh wow! She has done a lot of work through out the years.
Heck! She don’t wanna quit working? Freakin yea!
You go girl!

More power to her !
We had a old boy here everyone called ( pops ) he slowly lost his sight to the point of being completely blind.
He could from memory find his way around our small town and back home with his stick.
When leaving the bar sometimes he stick his head back in and ask for help finding his car. Lmao

She is a UK National Treasure to be sure. Very nice lady and an accomplished Oscar winner. She said "Photographic memory" but I think she meant just great short term memory. Or, that she HAD photographic memory ability before she lost her sight.

Apparently it's AMD, age related macular degeneration.

How Judi Dench Copes With AMD

Judi Dench has both types of AMD, one in each eye. She announced her diagnosis in 2012 but reassured the public that her condition wouldn’t prevent her from continuing to perform.

In the early stages of her condition, she would have her script printed out in enlarged fonts. As her condition deteriorated, she lost her ability to read. Nowadays, friends or family members read and repeat the lines aloud to help her memorize her script.

In a recent interview, Dench shared that her vision loss spurred her to ‘find a way of just getting about and getting over the things that you find very difficult.’

While AMD has made performing and completing day-to-day tasks more challenging, it hasn’t prevented Dench from leading a full and happy life.

Love that gal. She is indeed a top shelf pro and one of the best. I don't know but I'm virtually positive I read a number of years ago she was suffering from Alziemers but had also said she would continue to perform as long as possible. Oddly enough it seemed like I was seeing her more often not less. Whatever the case with her - God Bless her in every way possible

I've always liked her. I know it was fiction but I always kind of felt like she was dead because of the scene in 007.

'M' gotta' still work (James Bond's old boss)

good for her
