Does anyone know what size wheels/tires on this '67 GTX?

Anyone know this car? And what size rims and tires do you think they are? And what steel wheels are they?

Wheels and tires make the car and this just doesn't get it for me. I have a set of 15" stock 67 wheels with 775-15 redline tires and they look like bicycle tires on a 67 GTX. They are correct factory wheels for a 67 GTX equipped with 15" wheels and I have the correct 67 dog dish caps to go with them. I have only mounted them one time for a concourse car show. 67 GTX'S look great with chrome Magnums and red line tires.

Total guess.

Rear - 275-45 R17
Front - 245-45 R17

Maybe even 40 series. Maybe taller rims.

On 8” rims. Maybe wider.

I've been through the hubcap, 14 steel, 15 steel, magnums, whitewalls, cragars, etc... the bigger steels with dogs intrigue me right now.

I’ve seen a lot worse. My guess is 18x8 wheels and possibly 40 series tires…

Agreed, on the GTX. And, I’m not assuming that there aren’t suspension modifications.

Detroit Speed Wheels, also makes bigger steel smoothie wheels
18" & Plus sized with 5x4.5/4.75" bolt patterns
w/many different custom backspacing too,
probably need the register size when ordering too

So;
I have no idea on the exact or many details, I do know an 8" wheel is 9"s lip to lip
on my buddies truck, not sure you can run poverty caps
but there's wheels/ ones shown for trucks with the GM 'in the photos',
w/dog dish 10" IIRC caps
so;
I assume they make wheels to accept 'Poverty style caps', not sure sizes etc.
the only ones (of Detroit Steel) I've seen personally,
are the smoothies, on a Chevy truck/4x4, they are quality wheels
they do have some other & better looking 'steel wheels' for hub caps too
they do have several styles to choose from

disclaimer;
I personally hate the look of painted/powder-coated or body colored 'steel wheels',
(If you can't tell; not a fan of poverty caps too, way overdone too, but to each their own)
IMO cheapens the look of the car,
it's like a belly button everyone has one or wheels a set
it's like the 1st thing most car guys took off, back in the hay-day too...
It's no doubt why they were on the cars to begin with, at no extra charge,
old man/taxi-cab style wheels, they were/look like cheap wheels...
Day 2 wheels went on as soon as they could afford them, 'like day 2'
(most steel wheels in general are big HP robbers, especially when going to bigger than a 15"
the extra rotating mass/weight 'requires' way better upgraded brakes too)
IMHFO these muscle car era cars need a lil' bling, some nice alum., polished or chrome wheels,
help do that..

THE most menacing looking car on this forum (imo) is Black Sheep's All black GTX, with black wheels big black tires, and dog dishes. Pure badass!
I like dog dishes, use em on my cars, sometimes. But I also have a couple sets of centerlines, and torque thrusts that I rotate. So, I guess I'm on both sides of the fence.
As for the op's question: if those aren't the us mags 17 inchers, then they are custom 18s or bigger. (Id guess 18s, myself). And unless you do the measurements of your own car yourself, what someone else runs is NO guarantee they'll fit your car.

If you're trying to fit a 66/67 B, the 17x7, 17x8 combo might work, I'd be tempted to use 17x7s all around.
17x9s, unless they have the PERFECT backspace, is asking for trouble.
