Door fit on rotisserie

What method did you do when fitting doors while on a rotisserie? No panels needed to be replaced. So far just one door skin.

Supports/ jack stands ect ? Did it work or not?

I'd put jack stands under the spring hangers and the front rails in front of the torsion bar cross member; then use the rotisserie to give the ends a little support, just a little so the weight of the rotisserie ends isn't working against you

Even then, be damned careful when that support isn't there while opening and closing doors, especially on a hard top, even with frame connectors. Chip o paint / primer.

I hear ya .... I think I will work the doors after mounting with and without supports while it's still in primer.

If it doesn't have subframe connectors and/or roll cage there is no sense trying to get them lined up. It will move. They won't fit good back on the ground. We cut in the bottom, trunk, jambs and engine compartment. Install the suspension and lower components, lines, tank, etc. All final outer body fit and blocking is done on the ground with the suspension loaded. I pick up B bodies all the time on my hoist. Unless it has subframe connectors, the doors always close like crap when on the hoist.

I’ve noticed on my cars that lifting the front by jacking under the engine cradle, that allows enough un-natural flex in the body that the doors don’t shut right. Even up on 4 jack stands on the frame rails at the designated jack points, I leave the doors alone.

I mock the entire car and get more than half of the structural welding done before rotisserie; most times the suspension is already removed and car is on dollies.......... never an issue

Dollys worked well for me in these locations

I also got away with it until the engine went in.
