Dorman brand steering coupler kits - I hear its junk, WHY ?????

The mopar ones have dried up.

And now i need one.
Ive heard the dorman brand is junk?

So what exactly is wrong with them
 
Layson's makes the one with the black silicone gasket instead of orange. Part# is TM-43436AC

just got one. the shoes are ok, the rubber seal is crap, almost see thru but the biggest issue is the spring clip. its not bent right and won't even fit over the shoes, and not easy to rebend without destroying it. use the shoes but try and clean up and re-use the other stuff if possible.
 
Is it assembled correctly? If the shoes are 90 degrees off it'll be sloppy

Havent pulled it apart yet.

Want to have parts on hand when i do.

Just bought 2 nos mopar kits yesterday.
So will be maybe 2 weeks before i get to the column.
