Just got my new Doug's installed about an hour ago. Great fit except had to dent one tube 1/4" on drivers side to clear torsion bar. Not to bad of a job compared to some I've done.

What were you putting it in? Engine? Body?

Curious about the application myself, my drivers side a ton of clearance, I did have to dent the passenger side to clear. 440/67 w/2".

I bought a set of Doug's for my 70. I'm curious to know/see what exhaust systems have people used with Dougs.

I've got Doug's 2" headers on my '70 Satellite with a 440. No denting at all. Sits very close to steering box, and of course the starter is trapped, but Doug's fit very nicely. I run 2.5" duals with Flowmaster 40 series. She's a little loud in closed spaces, but once I'm heading down the road at 2000rpm, it's as quiet as can be in the front seat.

I used a 3" TTI X pipe with Magnaflows on mine. It needed some mods to fit nice and tuck up so it didn't hang below the body.

Just installed Doug's 452 in my 1970 RR with 440. Having same issue with torsion bar on driver side (sits very close). Will have to bend or dent one tube, or try moving engine around a little. Passenger side has no issues.

There is also an issue with transmission-lines, as they are touching the headertubes. This is a problem and has to be solved, as it will affect cooling. Does someone have any advices for this?

How close is the #2 tube to the shock tower ? I may have 1/4 -3/8"....I'm thinking about putting a slight dimple there as well.

Do you mean shock tower on passenger side? On my car this tube is about 3/4" away.
Yes sir, look at the pic closest to the shock mount.
I wonder is there a difference in the shock towers from a 67 to a 70?

I changed to AN fittings to get away from them.

I beleive I used 6, but I also have an aux trans cooler. I ran the lines over the collector to the drivers side frame rail and in to the cooler.
If I remeber correctly I had to use a 45° on the rear port for clearance.
I can get pics this weekend of the lines.

Just installed Doug's 452's in my 1969RR with 512. No issue with torsion bar on driver side (3/8 clear). Passenger side has no issues, but was a pain to install. Driver side was quick and easy. Angled Plugs fit good with my aftermarket heads.
