Doug's vs TTI headers

and fitted ok? Like i said Dougs told friend they weren't designed for Edelbrocks
Yes they fit perfect also remember the Eddy RPM heads have angled plugs so that also helps the big tube headers for more plug Clearence. They by far are the best fitting headers I've ever installed.

Summit Racing has Doug’s on sale with a $100 rebate, but wait there’s more, use code SIZZLINP get additional percentage off. If you spend $999 get $120 off.

Stainless are gorgeous but are they hotter than ceramic coated headers? I have to think they transfer more heat without the coating?

My current Hooker Super Comps are looking pretty shabby and need replaced. Looking for input from those who have Doug's on their B bodies (mines a 69 Charger). The Hookers fit really well except for 2 things, they hang too low and it would be nice if the exit was actually aimed at the cross member hump. I know from reading on here that the TTI's are above and beyond for fitment BUT when I'm looking at a grand... stainless starts to look very appealing. So my question is, how far down do the stainless Doug's hang and are there any other issues?

A 3rd possible option is Summits self branded ceramic coated headers, my experience with their self branded parts is that they're typically made by a top brand company and they look a lot like Hookers for half the price of TTI's.

Well my input on the matter: i e always ran "Super Comp Hookers (2-piece jobbies) & I recently got a pair of TTI's - i will NEVER use any header other than TTI's .. ever again - when they say " You get what you pay for" ~ TTI's have it in Spades my friend.

Just came across a set off TTI's - on here 4-sale ($600) new, never bolted on 440 sr (i believe) & his user name is charger_1968

The Dougs do not align with the crossmember humps. I have never seen a set that does. One reason I imagine is that they'd be impossible to install without dropping the motor. Otherwise, fit is perfect and starter access is very good. They have to clear the floor so that and the collector size dictates how low they hang. I don't think they could do any better in that area.

I'm building my own exhaust with 3" tubes and when I made the pieces through the crossmember from the collector I did it while the engine was out and I built in a 1/2" clearance. So they'll hang low because they're 3" pipes - but for no other reason.

You can see the extensions off the collectors here. When I made them I installed the trans and crossmember.

Those look like mandrel bent 3" extensions? Did you have those made special or is there a source for them? I chopped and welded some 3" tube to make mine, not as neat and smooth.

TTI fit is no better. Look at my system and I already bent the left side towards the cross member cut out.
