downside of a 26" radiator on a 22 support?

My Jag clutch and 216 fan are officially on the shelf. Went back to my Flex a lite flex fan yesterday. The standard duty clutch just wont cut it.
I did the swap and went for a drive. Ambient temp was 84 and engine temp never went over 180. It was 200+ with the Jag and 216.
Maybe my radiator is borderline? Maybe with a big aluminum one it would be fine?
 
I will keep this in mind. I know the clutch fans only run 70-90% of pulley speed. The heavier duty the fan clutch the higher the % according to Hayden. Sorry it didn't work out.
 
According to the Hayden site the standard duty's run at 60-70%. Heavy Duty's 70-90%, and severe duty's 80-90%.
No worries, it was a good learning experience on how fast a person can change out fans.
