Dual springs on la 318

Purchased dual springs for my 318 #995-16 the inner spring will not fit over the orange seal. Did i purchase the wrong seals? Is there a easy fix for this or do i need to purchase new springs. Reason why i purchased these was because i have a thumper cam and was told i needed to upgrade my springs as well. Comp cam offered a dual and a single spring set. I knew i should of just stayed with the single spring!

Dual springs require P/C seals, P/C seals require the top of the guide to be machined... Send the dual springs back & get the single.....
 
You can buy the cutter and cut the guides yourself. The cutter uses the valve stem area as the guide and you can use a drill. I think the last cutter we bought was made by comp cams. Cutters run about $60 bucks or so. Have to get it for your right valve stem and spring od. Goes pretty fast. But I usually don't run dual springs unless I have too. Good outer spring and a spring dampner work most of time.
 
This 318 build is getting expensive . Just talked to the machine shop. Hes thinking lowest 1k to finish my 318. I dont know if i should just stop messing with it and find a motor that i can just drop in and go. Very discouraging
 
As mentioned, need the valve guide and seat cutter. It cuts the raised part, under the seal, down the seat so the seat is flat up to the outer valve guide, and also narrows the outer part of the valve guide for the PC seals.
