Just getting to the fuel system on 68 Charger Drag Car 1/4 mile car . 572 CI stroked Aluminum Motor. 950 HP to 1000 HP.
1250Cfm Holley Dominator Carb.
Fuel Cell mounted in trunk, Racing Fuel.
Looking at Holley brand, Quick Fuel , Aeromotive , Edelbrock, MSD, or ??
Will need Electric Fuel Pump, Regulator, and Pre. and Post Filters.
Line size I would say would be 10AN(5/8").
Would like suggestions and experience on Brands and mounting suggestions( pictures if possible).
I know there is expensive Brands and not so expensive Brands and know you get what you pay for.
Thanks! for any help.

I have used CNC Machine {not in business any more IIRC}
my 2nd choice was Aeromotive pump & filter stuff &
Quickfuel carb stuff of many different types, sizes & styles
a MagnaFuel system for a dedicated race car would be a good idea too,

I'd suggest using a bypass style fuel regulator it helps to keep the fuel cooler &
won't dead head the pump & has a better free flowing constant pressure to the carb,
with far less PSI drops, it's also set flowing & doesn't drop pressure or spike
like a deadhead style regulator does when under hard acceleration or braking

I'd suggest using foam or baffles in the cell, to not have so much slosh/fuel starvation
the pickup should be at the lowest rearward part of the cell
unless there's a line going down into the cell at the rear...
if you understand what I'm saying

I'd suggest at a minimum 200gpm free flowing for anything over 600hp
for 950hp I'd suggest around a 300gpm minimum free flowing @ 6.5-7.5psi

[There are far bigger too, like 500gpm + units, but probably not necessary,
especially for a naturally aspirated/none N20 apps, single carbs etc.]

Your Budget may dictate some of the needs/wants,
it doesn't hurt to have too much, it'll hurt to not have enough thou...
Just because it's more expensive, doesn't always mean it's better either...

But I'd highly suggest
Use a good 10 micron cleanable/reusable filters w-A/N ends, one before the elect. pump &
one before the carb after the regulator

there's tons to chose from
google is you friend here

there are a ton of photos here maybe try the search option at the top of the page

I'd also suggest the least amount of
90* or 180* bends/fittings as humanly possible

check out SuperStockRacers posts he has a nice simple setup
2 of his cars below
{Good rule of thumb when doing fuel system plumbing, I'd do a gentle arch with the lines when ever possible, instead of 90*'s or 180* A/N fittings, especially with a smaller sized pump},
Disclosure;
This is not intended to be critical of SSR's system,
I used it as an example because I don't have any good photos &
it simplistic & because it seems to work very well for his needs too

there's also mechanical like a Pro Pump &
belt driven pumps too, like Hilborn's or Enderle's, especially if the cell is mounted up front

I have a 725hp HEMI, street strip set up. I use a 140 GPH Mallory pump and regulator - 40 micron filter pre and 10 micron post - 8 from tank to engine and a -10 as a return.
Runs like a million Bux!
