I have a 69 roadrunner 383. The car is a factory airgrabber. I put eldebrock heads and a performer rpm intake. I noticed that with the intake installed that the hood will not close. I am thinking about cutting the carb stud an inch or so and ordering a narrow air cleaner. Anyone have any suggestions on getting the hood to close?

Sounds to me like you have a handle on it....

Yep, the air grabber does not allow for much deviation in carb height so you will be making an air cleaner that fits. FYI, I can tell you that a factory 440 six pack setup will fit under it.

I like greenmonstas take on it although I would never cut a hole in mine! I do have the same problem I just push down as hard as I can and ignore it haha
