I am wondering how many active FAST or Pure Stock racers are on the forum. If you are running in these classes, please post a picture of your car and what state you are from. I will be attending the MIR and the Cecil events in October. Hope to meet some of you there.

I think stock appearing would be fun. But to be near the top, very expensive. I’ve already changed mine too much to go back. It would be out of my price range.

Had a blast this year at the pure stock event with Mr Seth Jones.

Since it was only run once as a side event at our local Fathers Day drags a few years ago, I can lay claim to be the New Zealand reigning champion in the FAST Class here.

I won the final in my '70 GTX with a 14.1 sec quarter.....over a '70 six-barrel 'Cuda automatic car. I finished a good few lengths in front. Was awarded a trophy for that. Since the level of interest was so low it was never run again.

Here's a picture of my car from a shoot for our local Hot Rod magazine about 23 years ago.....

I still have a CD with copies of the pictures taken.....as well as other shoots.

I have quickly become a fan of the FAST class... i wish i could do it. That butterscotch duster that belongs to i think Brian? Is just amazing running 10.20s

I believe that Hot Butterscotch Duster will be tipping into the 9 second zone in short order. This class is a first class, class act.

A 904 is lighter and strong contrary to what is popular belief. My friend's real pure street Duster runs mid 10's with a 904. He's probably one of the first, if not the first guy running such a setup.
There are a lot of tricks (obviously) in that Butterscotcher that I am not at liberty to disclose, but nevertheless, amazing. It's all in the details.

They've been running light-weight 904 guts in the BB, hemi, and SB cars for decades. It seems to have started with the SS/AH guys.

Yes, agreed. I'm talking the whole 904 package with the case and all. Everyone in these parts were running SB 727's and the idea of a 904 cased and internal piece package in a real street driven brawler was a head scratcher.
His Father "Top Boy" has a long, long history behind the TFlites and Oldsmobile Hydromatics.
