Can't find any help on Dakota forums, so I am still wondering how to release the tubes/cables that are used to adjust the headlamps on a 1996 Dodge Dakota (earlier years should be the same). There is a lot of plastic involved and I don't want to snap/damage/break anything. Thank you.
I can't directly answer your question because I didn't do it, but FWIW I recently had those style headlights replaced on my 93. My friend who did it mentioned that I needed to keep hitting those cables with penetrating oil to free them up. Bottom line: H/L replacement is possible without removing the cables entirely.
