Hello everyone, I have been using for bbodies only for over 3 years now. Anytime I cannot figure out what is going on with my car I am usually able to find an answer here. I should have made a profile a while ago but glad to have made one now. 2/14/2018 I was able to buy my dream car. 1969 Plymouth roadrunner 383 4 speed car, Vitamin c with Vinyl top. I still have a little more to pay off but I want to go fast. The current 383 is numbers matching but doesn't break my neck when my foot is in it. I currently have 2 options for engines. I have a 1975 rv 440 and a 73 400 block. Both are stock bore. I have been trying to figure out which way to go for a few years now and the lack of funs have made it easy to wait. If money was not a factor I would be throwing in a twin turbo nelson racing 572 hemi. But it is and I am thinking about throwing a 871 blower on that stock 440 with some new pistons and maybe just getting the 452 heads done. I also like the idea of doing a 500ci 400 stroker build with good internals, trick flow heads, efi and having a 600+ NA build. I try to drive this car as much as possible because what's the point of owning your dream car if you don't drive it. I'm wondering if I would get over the blower in a manual car or if every time I would start it I would smile from ear to ear due to the blower. Who knows if I will ever make up my mind but i will take any and all advice. right now im trying to find the lowest compression pistons for both the 400 and 440 because using the 400 would be a slightly cheaper swap than the 440 due to the reuse of a few things from my 383. I have a few things to do before the motor, currently dealing with a ground issue that I have not been able to locate. I need better brakes I will never forgive myself if I get into a accident because I didn't upgrade the brakes. I am about to order some wilwoods and do that and then thinking about upgrading to a tremec 5 speed that I can ditch the 3.23 gears. Any and all suggestions are welcome. -Dillon

Welcome from S Carolina, glad you joined Now stop being a USER

Welcome to the best Mopar site on the web.
My vote for your motor is to stroke the 400. Plenty of power in a street car, and the 400 is shorter than a 440 so hood clearance is easier to deal with.

Welcome aboard from NJ. Wow, that car is gorgeous! Best of luck what ever you decide to go with!

Welcome aboard from the Pacific Northwest....Beautiful RR and for what it’s worth my vote is go with the 400, already has 440 bore and all the brackets are the same.

Thank you! Yeah I’m leaning the 400 way. I’ve always wanted a blower but the practicality and the cost is hard! Love the pics of the car and furry friends

awesome! My grandpa is from Detroit very cool. Always my favorite color for rrs. For cudas I have to say plum crazy. Can’t go wrong with a 440.

If only I could afford a hemi.

Hi Dillon, :welcome:
Thanks for sharing your car with us, it looks great! I'm sure you're happy with it. :)

Engine-wise, I'd go with the stroked 400 idea. Dreams like a twin turbo nelson racing 572 hemi won't be realistic; having more than hellcat power means your transmission won't survive, your rear end won't survive and your chassis won't survive. It would cost a lot more than just the engine to make a working combination. On the other hand, 3.91 gears with a 5 speed would wake up the engine you have right now.
