I put an MSD atomic system on my charger about 2 years ago right when they came out. I opted to run a return system with the supplied pump. It ran ok for about a year as long as it was above half tank, anything less it would cut out from slosh during even the slightest acceleration. I was content with this because i didnt really know enough about intank pumps to build a hanger and put a pump in the tank or build a baffle.
After this winter ended and i started to drive the charger again, it ran like crap anything above idle. So I checked the pre pump filter and a bunch of rtv found its way into the filter, i think from a bunch that was smothered on the filler neck from the previous owner. Put new filter on, ran ok for awhile then it started acting up again, put new filters on...nothing so then i tried a man sized weldon pump that is supposed to be a good puller pump. Still ran like crap
Did some researched and found aeromotive just came out with there phantom kit, so i ordered it.
This KIT is worth every penny! Watched a few install videos from you tube and got to work.
I used a new tank, built a spacer out of 3/4 aluminum box tubing from home depot so the pump system would clear from the trunk pan.
This Car is such a pleasure to drive now, almost went through 2 tanks in one hot day
