These are NOS exhaust hangers and hardware...Soaked in ER and coated with boeshield. The nuts and washer were sent out for plating...

There were two variations on the exhaust hangers in 69. In my comparison pics the middle one is an original set and the far right is the NOS pair.
The first set is a repop and there are noticeable variations...

ECS mufflers versus Gardners

The gardners do not have a penststar and you get one date for that year. The graders also has a right and left muffler so the stamping on both faces down.

Last pic is the Gardner unit

The exhaust system I use dis Gardners. The pipes have the correct finish, bends, flat spots ect..The fitment was spot on with NO major adjustments or modifications....On the head pipe they use a crush sleeve to seal the flange...

Regarding the weep hole on the tailshaft seal; I thought that the hole is supposed to point south, not west?

Very nice. I see you used Boeshield on items on this page. What are you using to protect bare metal surfaces on everything else?

Thanks,

Everything bare metal is coated with boeshild....interior and exterior parts...

On the suspension components I also top off with clear cosmoline. Its waxy and self fills when touched ect. Reason why I do that is until everything is done those parts get mettled with until all is done.

Once the car goes to a few major shows all exterior components will probably be coated with regular cosmoline (yellow). Not the spray version the spreadable version that comes in a quart can....

I was wondering if you had planned on protecting all that hard work long term pr just let it naturally age again. I'm glad to see you will preserve it for the long term.

I have used almost everything on the market available. Number one best is Cosmoline the yellow wax version and number two is Boeshield T9.

The main difference between those two is the Boeshield protects and maintains the original finish. Cosmoline covers in a yellow film and has to be removed with solvent but the finish is preserved.....

Previous restorations I used Napas protectant version, anti seize, Gibbs oil, WD-40 and all used cosmoline....

Original driveshaft was in mint shape. No pitting, scratches, dings, or dents...And readable PN's....I bought a 6ft PVC pipe and soaked it in evaporust. Then the work began. I cannot even fathom the hours spent on this one part but it turned out great. Special chemicals were used to create the weld look on the ends and tubes.

The NOS U joints are correct and very rare to runs across and extremely expensive....I also luck out on getting the cup strap clips for the rear joint. The factory used these during assembly so the cap didn't fall off. I am waiting for the strap to come some...

Original K frame splash shields were unusable to scratches, dings and cracks....The repops do not have the larger "RH" "LH" and part number format. I probably went through 50 sets of these to find 2 usable ones...Why? If they are new they have no scratches, dings, ect. Since NOS is long gone imagine finding a used set of these that are like new...It is a needle in a haystack....

Mine were not riveted in and these are the original screws that were plated.

Here is the original radiator that was sent out a recored. Correct part number and date. I coated it lightly with eastwood radiator paint. The petcock is NOS and has the correct markings on the backside. This is a 4spd car so notice the original plugs in the cooler line holes.
